A growing portfolio of housing association contracts for Munters MCS

Global property damage restoration and prevention specialist, Munters MCS has signed four separate UK-based framework agreements for the provision of energy performance certificates (EPC) to raise housing stock energy performance, in line with new legislation.

As one of the preferred EPC providers for the Fusion21 framework, Munters MCS has been awarded a three year opportunity, potentially culminating in 10,000 instructions, to undertake and issue housing stock EPCs to over ten organisations including the Salvation Army Housing Association, The Riverside Group, Regenda, Arena Housing, Wirral Partnership Homes and the Knowsley Housing Trust within the North West.

For Sanctuary Housing Group, the largest framework agreement in the UK, Munters MCS has been awarded a one year contract as a preferred provider for EPCs nationwide, with a maximum of 7,000 instructions per annum.

Munters MCS has also been awarded a two year contract with the Eastern Shire Purchasing Organisation, to provide EPCs and energy improvement modelling, including thermography and air tightness testing services across all housing stock  and a six month contract with Stevenage Borough Council for the provision of EPCs.

Commenting, Munters MCS Account Director, Nik Day said: “These latest agreements not only reaffirm our specialist experience in providing EPCs for social housing, but it also positions us as one of the UK’s leading ‘prevention and cure’ energy solution providers.  Having worked on one of the first contracts for assessing energy performance of housing stock in the UK, we are able to offer real value in the lessons learnt to date in meeting legislation and targeting property improvement.”

From October 2008 landlords are required, under the EU Energy Performance of Buildings Regulations 2007, to provide an EPC from a registered DEA for each dwelling for new or prospective right-to-buy tenants.
