Sashment the new timber sliding sash window

Timber sash windows look good adding both character and value to a building, but remain a maintenance problem in upper level floors or inaccessible situations like above glass roofs, or in elevations with restricted ground level access. Many homes and commercial buildings are subject to planning restrictions, such as conservation areas, where a traditional timber sash window is the only option.

The problem of cleaning and painting sash window exteriors, without the expense of scaffolding or contravening the Working at Height Regulations, are now history with a new British invention (patents pending).

Sashment windows operate in exactly the same way as traditional sash windows but also open inward 180 so they can be decorated and cleaned from inside. They fulfil the aesthetic requirements of conservation areas whilst uniquely providing a solution to cleaning, maintenance and access problems.

They can be an effective fire exit and give easy access for furniture etc when other ways are impossible. When replacing windows, the Sashment will fit easily into the existing pockets.

Security and energy efficiency are high priorities for Sashment windows. Locking sash fasteners and mortice shoot bolts are fitted and the windows are fully draft and weather proofed. Argon filled, low energy glazing units give a 1.6 u value, meeting the requirements of doc L building regulations.

Sashment windows are manufactured individually to bespoke sizes and are available in pre-treated softwood or hardwood both carrying a 25-year guarantee against rot and fungal infection. Windows can be supplied fully finished with a high grade Sikkens paint system and this together with the glazing, also carry guarantees.

Ordering is easy via the Internet (www.sashmentwindows.co.uk) with helpful advice if required.
